The greek Pine honey stands out with its exquisite aroma that is very nutritious and rich in minerals. The pine forests of Greece mainly consist of tree Pinus halepensis (Aleppo pine). Around 65% of the total honey production in Greece is from pine trees that may be so called important bee plant of our country.

The good development in the field of honey production owes the Greek beekeeping without exaggeration the insect Marchalina Helenica, - also known as "workers of the jaw" known. This parasite infects the pines and produces vast amounts of honeydew (see photo). To turn the bees collect and produce the beautiful honey.

Pine honey is very rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, proteins and amino acids. Scientific studies prove its high antiseptic effect that is often used for inflammation, cough and gout. Pine honey has fewer calories than other varieties and is ideal as an addition to your diet.
